Leadership Durham 2010: Become a leader in your compnay and community today!

Leadership Durham 2010: Nominate a future leader today! 

Leadership Durham, a program of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, opens doors for local business men and women and community leaders with the desire and ability to shape its future. Through face-to-face meetings with local and state leaders and on-site visits to local institutions, agencies and organizations, participants explore major issues and unique challenges facing the Durham community. Interactive sessions include in-depth discussions on human needs, healthcare, media, politics, law enforcement, Research Triangle Park, cultural arts, local government, education and much more. 

Leadership Durham 2010 applications are being accepted until November 6, 2009. If you have questions or need further information, please contact Kelsey Moore, Programming & Events Coordinator at the Durham Chamber of Commerce at kmoore@durhamchamber.org or (919) 328-8733. 

The 2010 program begins with orientation on December 10, 2009. Sessions generally meet every other Thursday, January through May and run 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 2010 Leadership Durham program dates are as follows: 

December 10, 2009 (Orientation) 
January 7 & 21, 2010 
February 4 & 18, 2010 
March 4 & 18, 2010 
April 1, 15 & 29, 2010 
May 12, 2010 
May 27, 2010 (Graduation) 

Multiple people may participate from the same company or organization.

Share The NewsVanderbilt University Homecoming Weekend 2009 kicks off on October 15, 2009 with hundreds of Vanderbilt Black alumni gathering in Nashville, TN to revel in the schools annual homecoming festivities and to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the AVBA (Association of Vanderbilt Black Alumni). These events will culminate in what is expected to be the largest gathering of Black alumni in the history of the university. Vandynow (a networking club of Vanderbilt Black alumni and students) will be celebrating this momentous occasion with a special night of networking and entertainment to compliment the homecoming/reunion activities during this exciting weekend.

WHEN: Saturday October 17th, 9pm 

WHERE:The Nashville City Club, located at 201 Fourth Ave N. on the 20th floor of the old Sun Trust Bank Building located in downtown Nashville with panoramic views of the city skyline  

WHAT:This upscale event will feature entertainment and networking opportunities and offer a festive opportunity for Alums to reconnect and celebrate as we cap off the homecoming and AVBA anniversary activities. This exciting event will bring together people from diverse academic backgrounds and generations in an intimate environment for an evening of alumni connecting, sharing, networking, elegant entertainment and fun.
